In Windows Vista you can choose when you want to defragment your hard disk.
The steps that you have to do:
Click Start.
Choose All Programs > Accessories > System Tools.
Select dfrgui then click Modify Schedule button.
Select Monthly in How Often dialog box for example.
Select 1, 2 or 3 etc. in What Day dialog box.
You may select or set hour if you want to in What time dialog box.
Click OK to end.
